One Day I’ll…see Madonna Live!

Ok so it hasn’t happened just yet! But I have secured tickets to see Madonna in Australia in 35 days (not that I’m counting).
The last time she was here was in 1992 and I was too young and not allowed to go…So, I’m making up for lost time now and I’m beyond excited to see this legend! Too excited actually! I’ve been listening to everything! Old and new and all I want to do is DANCE!

Before there was a Britney, Miley, Beyoncé, Iggy, or Lady Gaga, there was only one Queen! And amazing, as they all are in their own right, nothing could compare to Madonna. She was and still is that breakthrough artist, which fought her way in the New York bars and clubs, to make her mark in the music scene and continues to do so 40 years on!

Along with every new album she released, she also reinvented herself, adapting to the changing dynamics and demands of the music industry and the trends! Each song, each performance, each outfit, and each controversial action she has ever done, built her to be an Iconic artist. And as she shocked and pissed people off she remained true to herself and her fans.

She taught me everything I know. She taught me how to dance (ask me to Vogue for you, you’ll be impressed) or do the Holiday dance, straight from her ‘Blonde Ambition Live from Barcelona’ concert! Mime and sing the highs and lows of her songs in a hairbrush, she taught me about the best 80s fashion, (teased hair, bushy eyebrows, lace gloves, pointy bras…ok I didn’t get that far), how to be happy, to be confident, spiritual and strong. She taught me to question everything and to not agree with everything! Most importantly she taught me that it was OK to be a girl (listen to “What It Feels Like To Be A Girl”) and that I had my own voice!

Nothing any new artist does shocks me any more, because Madonna did it first and nothing is sacred these days anyway.
